Isabel Smyth

 

is a Sister of Notre Dame who studied at Lancaster University at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

 

She taught religious studies in what is now the Education Faculty of Glasgow University. She has a particular interest in spirituality and has experience in giving workshops and seminars on prayer and meditation using her knowledge of both the Christian tradition and that of other world faiths.

 

She has been involved in inter faith work for thirty years and has experience in working at both local and national level. She was the founding director and first CEO of the Scottish Inter Faith Council.

 

At present she is the Catholic Bishops Associate Secretary for Inter Faith Relations, convener of the Scottish Inter Faith Council and an honorary  lecturer in the Centre for Inter Faith Studies at Glasgow University.

 

Dominic Ind

 

is a priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church and for the last 25 years has been engaged in inter faith dialogue.

 

For 6 years Dom studied comparative religions, firstly as an undergraduate at Lancaster University and then trained for the priesthood at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. Dom studied Hindu/Christian dialogue in colleges in India and Zen Buddhism in a temple in Japan.

 

Over the last 10 years Dom has served as Inter Faith Advisor to the Episcopal College of Bishops; Convener of the Churches Agency for Inter Faith Relations in Scotland and Convener of the Committee for Relations with People of Other Faiths.

 

At present Dom is Rector of St. Saviour’s, Bridge of Allan; Anglican Chaplain at Stirling University and Chaplain to the Bishop of St. Andrew’s, advising him on inter faith and spirituality.
